Every year Woodstock Soccer Club is involved in a round of local tournaments. The format of the tournaments change occasionally, and the constitution of the competing teams is a decision each coach handles differently. But each tournament has its traditions, and Woodstock has always had a strong presence.
Highlights from the 2007 tournaments.
2nd Annual U12 Onteora Cup
November 10, 2007 -- 9:00am -- Dug Hill Fields, Hurly, New York
The Woodstock team came away victorious in the 2nd annual Onteora Cup, going undefeated through 5 games yesterday at a cold Hurley field. The snow melted in time for an excellent showing by our players, shutting out Olive with scores 4-0, 2-0 and beating Hurley in the 2 round robin games,as well as the final,1-0. We will get the trophy engraved this week and put it again at the Woodstock school for all to see. Congratulations to all who participated and thank you to the parents who braved to cold, the coaching staff and our referee, Ed Hopp.

2nd Annual Jay Gottlieb Memorial U14 Tournament
November 10, 2007 -- 2:00pm -- Woodstock, New York
The 9 Woodstock players who came out did an awesome job handling the skilled teams from Hurley and Olive, winning the annual Jay Gottlieb Memorial Tournament. Our U14s, Anna, Jackson, Justin, Spencer, Casey and Jack were joined by our U12s, Kayla, Kealey and David to win the cup.
Thanks go to Hurley players Bernie, Kaitlyn, Austin, Andy and Matt who at different times played for Woodstock to round out the 11. Jackson was the leading scorer with Jack getting the final goal against Olive in the sudden death overtime. Scores were 4-1 verses Hurley and 3-2 in the final against Olive. A quick recovery goes out to Henry who was injured warming up. Congratulations to all who played during the season including Delany, Jordan, Zack, Andrew, Ryan and Ben who could not be at the tournament this year. Thank you to Tim Rands for reffing, Tom King for setting up benches and lining the field and to all the coaches and parents who made the day enjoyable.
