Spring Soccer is upon us!

Welcome to Woodstock Soccer Club 2009/10 soccer season.

If you register and play in the fall, then you are automatically registered and paid up for spring as well. A single fee covers the Fall and Spring league programs, and the uniform paid for with part of your registration fee is used in both the Fall and Spring. The design of the uniform usually changes with each season, so even if your child's old uniform still fits, they need to get the new one. Old uniforms are excellent for practices and can be used as back-up uniforms for other players who need a uniform in a pinch!

First Fall practice is mid-August, at The Comeau. Spring practice starts mid-April. First games are scheduled from April 17th - June 20th.

Equipment

As part of your registration fee, your child will receive a uniform, including shirt, shorts and socks. You must provide your child with shin-guards, soccer cleats and a soccer ball. U-6s and U-8s play with a #3 sized ball. U-10s and U-12s use a #4 sized ball. U-14s use a #5 (adult) sized ball. Please write your player's name on their ball so it does not get confused with other children's.

Teams

The age division for a player is determined by their age on July 31st of the Fall season. So, for instance, if the player is 9 years old as of July 31, 2009, they will play in the U-10 (under 10) division in the Fall 2009 and Spring 20010. Divisions at Woodstock Soccer are U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-14. All teams in the rec league are co-ed (the travel teams are gender-specific).

Practice and Game Schedule

Practice in the Spring is on Wednesdays from 5pm-6:30pm and Saturdays from 10:00am-11:30am. Games are played on Sundays, although some will be scheduled on Saturday's in place of practice.

Practice in the Fall starts out the same as for Spring, with Wednesday 5pm-6.30pm and Saturday morning 10am-11.30am practice. Fall games are on Saturday, so when games start, the rec divisions revert to having practice only on Wednesday from 5pm-6:30pm and games on Saturday.

U-6's don't play games. Delays and cancellations, due to weather or other circumstances, are always announced on the home page of the website, at http://www.woodstocksoccerclub.com within one hour of the event.
